Premium Report - Days to Fulfill, Ship, and Deliver

Days to Fulfill, Ship, and Deliver

This report is used to see how long it takes you (on average) to Fulfill, Ship, and Deliver Orders each month so you can assess your fulfillment team's performance.

As a Premium Report, this is available on all Paid Plans of Report Toaster. If you aren't signed up, follow these steps to upgrade your account.

Using this report, you can see your typical Fulfillment, Shipment and Delivery times over the last 12 months. This is determined by counting the number of days between the Order Date and the Fulfillment/Shipment/Delivery Date accordingly.

You can then compare the various months on the chart (above).
In an ideal world, all of these lines should roughly trend in the same direction, so any outliers or spikes might represent areas for concern:

For example, here are some things to look for.
  1. Big gaps between two metrics. E.g. If there's a big gap between days to fulfill vs days to ship, maybe packages are spending too long in the warehouse before being shipped?
  2. A change from one month vs the next. E.g. looking at Dec 2022 above, half as many orders came in, but they took longer to fulfill, ship, and deliver?
  3. Any spikes or outliers? E.g. In November 2022 if I hired more staff, suddenly my fulfillment time decreased dramatically.
  4. Any trends? E.g. after April 2023 if I switched Shipping carrier and my Days to Deliver decreased, this might be a good sign.

Here are a few terms to be familiar with in order to understand the Days to Fulfill, Ship, and Deliver report, numbered in the screenshots above:

1.) Days to Fulfill (avg)**. The average number of days between the Order Date and the Fulfillment Date (when the Order was Fulfilled) for orders placed that month

For example, if in June 2023 I had 5,440 Orders that took an average of 4.70 days to Fulfill, then 4.70 would display in the field.

2.) Days to Ship (avg)**. The average number of days between the Order Date and the In Transit Date (when the Order was shipped) for orders placed that month.

For example, if in June 2023 I had 5,440 Orders that took an average of 5.74 days to to Ship, then 5.74 would display in the field.

3.) Days to Deliver (avg)**. The average number of days that have passed between the Order Date and the Delivery Date (when the Order was Delivered)) for orders placed on that month.

For example, if  if in June 2023 I had 5,440 Orders that took an average of 10.70 days  to Deliver, then 10.70 would display in the field.

**Note -  An Order only counts as Fulfilled/Shipped/Delivered once every item on the order has been fulfilled/shipped/delivered.

Like all Report Toaster reports, these reports are fully customizable - so you can adjust the date range, add/remove columns, introduce a filter or change the sort to suit your individual needs. See our basic guides here for more info.
