Premium Report - Fulfillment, Shipment, and Delivery Performance

Fulfillment, Shipment, and Delivery Performance

This report is used to see how many orders you have/haven't Fulfilled, Shipped and Delivered on any given day over the last 2 weeks.

As a Premium Report, this is available on all Paid Plans of Report Toaster. If you aren't signed up, follow these steps to upgrade your account.

Using this report, you can see exactly how your fulfillment team is performing when processing your orders.
Looking at any given day, you can see exactly how many orders have Fulfilled, Shipped or Delivered, and crucially, how many have failed to complete each of these steps:

You can then compare each of the various days to the chart (above).

All of these lines should roughly trend in the same direction.
In an ideal world, the further back you go, the fewer orders you should have that are still Unfulfilled, Unshipped or Undelivered.

However, here are some things to look for as areas for potential improvement.
  1. Any gaps between the metrics (esp on earlier days in the month)? E.g. On 7/16/23 (12 days ago), I have 244 orders that have fulfilled but 50 of them still haven't shipped? Why is that?
  2. Any spikes or outliers? E.g. On 7/24/23 I still have 32 orders that need fulfilling, which is higher than most other days in the last 2 weeks.
  3. Any trends? E.g. If after hiring a new staff member I see fewer Unfulfilled or Unshipped Orders, I might consider this a good sign.
Here are a few terms to be familiar with in order to understand the Fulfillment, Shipment, and Delivery Performance report, numbered in the screenshots above:

1.) Orders. The total number of orders received that day. This is a baseline you can use to compare against the various other columns (below).

Reading the table from left to right then, you can see that Orders divides neatly into
  1. Unfulfilled + Fulfilled
  2. No Shipping Required + Unshipped + Shipped
  3. No Shipping Required + Undelivered + Delivered
For example, if on 7/23/23 I had 281 total orders, then 281 would display in the field.
This would then divide into 22 Unfulfilled + 259 Fulfilled (explained below)

2.) Unfulfilled Orders: The number of orders that do NOT have a Fulfillment Status of Fulfilled. This is set when every item on the Order has been fulfilled.
For example, if on 7/23/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 22 orders that don't have a current fulfillment status of Fulfilled, then 22 would display in the field.

3.) Fulfilled Orders: The number of orders that have a Fulfillment Status of Fulfilled. This is set when every item on the Order has been fulfilled.
For example, if on 7/23/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 259 orders that have a current fulfillment status of Fulfilled, then 259 would display in the field.

4.) Unshipped: The number of orders that do NOT have an In Transit date set. This is set when all of the items that require shipping have shipped.
For example, if on 7/23/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 72 orders that don't have an In Transit date, then 72 would display in the field.

5.) No Shipping Required: The number of orders where none of the items are listed as required shipping.
This is typically the case for pickup orders or orders that only contain digital items (e.g. Gift Cards), so they won't have Shipping or Delivery Dates.
For example, if on 7/23/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 2 orders where none of the items required shipping, then 2 would display in the field.

6.) Shipped: The number of orders that do have an In Transit date set. This is set when all of the items that require shipping have shipped.
For example, if on 7/23/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 207 orders that have an In Transit date, then 207 would display in the field.

7.) Undelivered: The number of orders that do NOT have a Delivered At date set. This is set when all of the items that require shipping have delivered.
For example, if on 7/23/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 190 orders that don't have a Delivered At date, then 190 would display in the field.

8.) Delivered: The number of orders that do have a Delivered At date set. This is set when all of the items that require shipping have delivered.
For example, if on 7/25/23, out of those 281 orders, I had 89 orders that have a Delivered At date, then 89 would display in the field.

Like all Report Toaster reports, these reports are fully customizable - so you can adjust the date range, add/remove columns, introduce a filter or change the sort to suit your individual needs. See our basic guides here for more info.
