Premium Report - Daily Lost Sales

Daily Lost Sales

The Daily Lost Sales report is used to see exactly how much you are missing out on in daily sales volume by not restocking fast-selling items.

This lets you see which items sell quickly but are currently out of stock so you can prioritize re-ordering accordingly.

Info
As a Premium Report, this is available on all Paid Plans of Report Toaster. If you aren't signed up, follow these steps here to upgrade your account.

A few terms to be familiar with in order to understand the Daily Lost Sales report

1.) Status, equal to, Active (FILTER) AND Gift Card, equal to, false (FILTER)
These filters ensure that only active products that are not gift cards display in the report.
This is key, as usually draft products and gift cards aren't something that merchants are looking to reorder.

2.) Quantity greater than 0 AND Available equal to 0 (METRICS FILTER)
These filters ensure that only items that have sold within the time period and are currently out of stock appear in the report
Alert
You can easily remove these metrics filters if you want to see all items, regardless of whether they have stock or have sold.
Idea
For example, I have 0 units of the Large/Blue Unicorn Cruiser currently in stock in my warehouse. It has sold in the last 90 days, so it would be included in the report.

3.) Available The quantity of units you currently have in stock for a particular product/variant/vendor.
For example, I have 0 units of the Large/Blue Unicorn Cruiser currently in stock in my warehouse.

4.) Quantity: The units sold for a particular product/variant/vendor. This number does NOT factor in Returns (for that, replace the column with Net Quantity instead).
Idea
For example, I sold 1,199 units of the Unicorn Cruiser product in the last 90 day period.

5.) Quantity Sold (Daily): The average number of units sold for a particular variant each day.
This number is worked out based on the Quantity (above) divided by the number of Days in the Date Range (top right)
Idea
For example, if I sold 1,199 units of the product in a 90-day period, then the calculation would be 1,199/90 = 13.32

6.) Daily Lost Sales This multiplies the Quantity Sold (Daily) with the price of the product so you can see how much you are losing each day by not selling this product.
Idea
For example, if my Quantity Sold (Daily) of the Unicorn Cruiser was 13.32 and the product sells for 17.99, then I am losing $239.63 each day that I don't

Like all Report Toaster reports, these reports are fully customizable - so you can adjust the date range, add/remove columns, introduce a filter or change the sort to suit your individual needs. See our basic guides here for more info.
