Another month is here, and this time we'll be taking a look at some of the new fields we've added to some existing reports in Report Toaster.
Channel Liable
A popular request from merchants who sell on multiple marketplaces (Tiktok, Etsy, etc), this
Shopify field tells you whether the marketplace is responsible or not for remitting taxes on your behalf.
As a result, we've updated all of our different Tax Reports to include Channel Liable in the filters.
This means that when you're working out how much you owe in tax, you can easily exclude any marketplace sales where the taxes are already remitted on your behalf:
Note that just like any
filters in Report Toaster, you can easily adjust or remove them from the report.
See our main guide on our Tax Reports
here.
Tax Thresholds - Updated
In line with these changes, we've also made a few changes to the US Tax Thresholds reports.
Many states have made a number of changes to the thresholds since this report was first published, so this has now been updated in line with the new threshold requirements to determine nexus (see
here).
Moreover, certain states DO count marketplace sales to determine if you've met the threshold for that state while other states DO NOT.
This required a bit of adjustment to the custom fields for this report.
Now, you can clearly see which states Include/Exclude marketplaces sales for determining the threshold.
Better yet, the report also automatically filters out marketplace sales if they are excluded, meaning they won't inadvertently count towards the threshold for any given state.
See our main guide
here for further info.
Other Fields
Finally, just a few other miscellaneous additions worth highlighting.
- Bundle Fields** - Used for Shopify Bundles, Bundle Title and Bundle Quantity are included by default as part of our Shopify Bundles report.
- Exchange (true/false)** - Available on Sales reports, this field identifies whether a sale line (sale/refund) is part of an Exchange.
- Selling Plan** - Used by a number of different Subscription apps (e.g. Recharge), this field shows you the type of selling plan for this subscription purchase, if applicable (E.g. Delivers every 90 days)
(Basically - how much profit you earn for every $1 you invest in Inventory Cost):
