Whats New? - August 2025

Summer may be over, but this month Report Toaster has been updated to become an embedded app directly in Shopify!

Let's take a look.

New Interface

First, let's get this out of the way nice and early:

This is primarily a visual update.

What this means is that all of your data, custom fieldssaved reports, etc, will work exactly the same as they did before. Phew!

However, there are a few changes to review (especially in terms of navigation), so let's go over them.

Main Changes

Homepage.

First, a few updates to our homepage:


  1. At the top, you'll notice a quick tour of the app. This is great to familiarize yourself and help navigate the changes.
  2. Under that is our option to revert to the original interface of Report Toaster (just in case).
  3. To the left is the AI Report Assistant. You can ask this to create/adjust reports and answer general questions about Report Toaster. If need be, you can also create a ticket from these conversations.
  4. To the right are Reports, which are divided into 2 sections. Both of these are also accessible from the Reports and My Reports sections in the left-hand menu.
    1. Built-in reports (the existing templates that you can adjust to make custom reports).
    2. My Reports (any prior custom reports you had saved). 
Any notifications about your account (e.g. days remaining in trial, or if your account has expired) will still appear as notifications at the top. 

Support Page

This menu includes everything from the old help menu (question mark icon, top right) and links to the guides that were formerly on our homepage. 
  1. Under Support tickets, click Create a ticket to contact our team (this is the same as emailing support@cloudlab.com). The more details you can provide, the better (including screenshots).
  2. Under Tutorials, you can access all our Basic Guides, including how to change dates, add/remove columns, create filters, change the sort, or export reports. 
  3. Under Knowledge base, you can access all of our help docs, including videos and this What's New series of articles. 

Settings 

This menu includes everything under the old profile menu (profile icon, top right) as well as a few new features!


  1. Under Profile information, you can adjust your contact information and regional settings, including Timezone and Regional formats (e.g., decimals, currencies, etc). See here.
  2. Under Metafields, you can choose which metafields you want to add/remove from your account. See here.
  3. Under Multi-store, you can connect multiple Shopify accounts together so you can combine their data side-by-side on the same reports. See here.
  4. Under Test data, you can toggle between viewing live vs test data in your reports. See here.
  5. Under Subscription, you can see your current plan and any plan options available to your store. See here.
Warning
Note - The Dark Mode option is not compatible with the Shopify interface, so we had to remove it :(

Other Changes

Finally, just some quick-fire, smaller things that are either mostly visual or just a strict improvement:
  1. Shared Links can be locked to a read-only view for ease of external sharing. See here.
  2. Share Link and Schedule buttons on both Built-in reports and My Reports for ease of identification.
  3. Add filter, Add Group, Saved Filter icons have also been replaced with named buttons for ease of identification. 
  4. Boolean filters are now a checkbox, not a toggle.
  5. Custom fields you have on a model will show up under their own header under the filter dropdown (like Saved Filters).
  6. AND/OR filter options are still there, but note that they only appear after adding a second filter to a report.
  7. Metrics Filters are now accessible via a Metrics button (top right) when included on a report (e.g. Unfulfilled Orders).
  8. You can rename reports from both the My Reports menu and on the saved report itself (open the report and click the pencil icon, top left).
  9. Reports can be pinned to the top of Built-in and My Reports for ease of searching.
  10. Numerous other small quality-of-life improvements.
